Walking Meditation Workshop

Have trouble meditating? It's often hard to go from the hustle of modern life to being silent and still. Often sitting meditation isn't appropriate or useful in the real world.  Walking and moving meditation can be applied to any activity in life.  This class will start with about 15 minutes of basic asana to warm up followed by 45 minutes of synchronizing your breath and movement through space.  Learn pranayama (breathing) techniques that help you focus, regulate your nervous system, and expand your awareness even with distractions and mild stress.

About Pas:

Pasquale Antonio moved to Durham from New York City in 2020. Pas is a Wellness & Movement Professional with over 20 years of experience that includes Manual Therapy, Martial Arts, Yoga, Eastern Philosophy, Dance, and Personal Training. He obtained his 500 Hour Yoga Certification in 2016 through the Yoga School NY in the therapeutic lineage of TKV Desikachar and T. Krishnamacharya.  Pasquale's classes are simple, balanced and include gentle asana, pranayama, yoga philosophy, and vedic chanting. His philosophy is 'yoga is medicine' meaning that the teachings should be communicated with the individual's needs in mind so that the student may find their own authentic path to yoga. In this way anything can be yoga if it creates a state of focused attention and unity. He has taught yoga in classes, workshops, corporate settings, and one-on-one.  Pasquale owns Jiyu Holistic Wellness in Durham where he offers a unique blend of massage, personal training, and his own brand of movement classes.  He also teaches martial arts at NC Systema in Durham.

Creative Flow Sequencing for Your Personal Practice

Explore your personal practice as a space for intuitive movement, playful exploration, and tuning into your embodied wisdom in this afternoon workshop dedicated to creative flow sequencing.

Designed for yoga practitioners, teachers, and movement explorers alike, this experience will guide you in crafting sequences that reflect your unique body, energy, and inner rhythm. You’ll learn to move beyond rigid class templates and instead follow your own breath, curiosity, and creative impulse to design flows that feel meaningful, sustainable, and supportive.

We’ll explore sequencing as a form of self-inquiry and self-expression.  Whether you’re experiencing life transitions, a need for nervous system support, or just a desire for deeper connection, this workshop offers space to listen, experiment, and evolve your practice with authenticity.

What you’ll experience:

- How to intuitively explore flows based on mood, energy levels, nervous system state cues, and personal intention.

- Creative ways to sequence with rhythmic movements, and patterns to tap into more moments of “flow state”.

- Tools for integrating breath, movement, and nervous system awareness.

- Journaling and reflection practices to connect with your somatic intelligence and inspire your personal practice.

- Ideas for deepening intuitive connection with eco-somatic practices and meditations.

About Maeve:

Maeve Hendrix is a queer, neurodivergent mental health therapist and yoga teacher who loves integrating eco-somatics, nervous system awareness, and vast permission to experiment, play and rest into her own personal yoga practice.  She has been teaching yoga for 14 years and leading yoga teacher trainings at Asheville Yoga Center for the last five years.  Maeve has a private counseling practice in Asheville, NC and spends much of her free time romping and napping in the forest with her dog, Theo-Dragon.
