Meditation and the Music of Nora Rogers
Join us for a unique mediation workshop that blends philosophy, technique, and the magic of live music. Led by Tom Sowders, this session begins with an exploration of foundational meditation principles and practical techniques to deepen your practice.
Meditators with all levels of experience--even none!--are welcome!
The workshop features guest musician Nora Rogers, an accomplished cellist who uses an amp and effect pedals to create an immersive, meditative soundscape. As a group, participants will use Nora’s evocative music as the focus of their meditation, while she incorporates the act of playing as her own meditative practice.
After the musical meditation, the session will transition to a brief lecture, followed by open discussion and reflective journaling. Whether you’re new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, this workshop offers a fresh perspective on mindfulness and the interplay between music and meditation.
The workshop will include two short meditation sessions designed to help you put these principles into practice. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience with meditation, this workshop will offer practical tools for deepening your mindfulness practice and engaging more fully with life.
